FamiKey

How to link your account’s email

FamiKey doesn’t access your email: you create a rule that forwards only Netflix emails to your home’s private address. You only do it once and it takes a couple of minutes.

Forwarding address

your FamiKey address (you can find it in the app, on the home’s page)

Only Netflix emails are forwarded: the rest of your email never leaves your mailbox. Choose your provider:

Gmail

Use a computer: the Gmail mobile app doesn’t let you create filters.

  1. Add the forwarding address. In Gmail, click ⚙️ → See all settings → the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab → Add a forwarding address, paste your FamiKey address (you can find it in the app, on the home’s page) and click Next → Proceed.
  2. FamiKey confirms it for you. Gmail sends a confirmation message to that address and FamiKey accepts it as soon as it arrives; in the app, on the home’s page, the step is ticked off. If Gmail doesn’t allow it, the app shows the Confirm forwarding button: tap it and then Confirm. In Gmail, leave Disable forwarding selected: if you choose “Forward a copy of incoming mail to…” you would forward all your email.
  3. Create the filter.
    1. In the Gmail search bar, click the Show search options icon (on the right of the bar).
    2. In From, paste: info@account.netflix.com
    3. To: leave it empty. Only if this Gmail receives emails from several Netflix accounts (for example, yours and another family’s), enter the email used to sign in to this home’s Netflix account: that way only the emails from this account are forwarded.
    4. Click Create filter, tick Forward it to, choose the FamiKey address and click Create filter again.
Outlook / Hotmail
  1. Open Outlook → Settings → Mail → Rules and click Add new rule.
  2. Name it FamiKey. Condition: From → info@account.netflix.com Action: Forward to → your FamiKey address (you can find it in the app, on the home’s page) . Click Save.

Outlook doesn’t ask you to confirm the address. On work accounts (Microsoft 365), external forwarding may be blocked by the administrator.

iCloud Mail
  1. On a computer, open iCloud Mail → ⚙️ → Rules → Add a Rule.
  2. If a message is from info@account.netflix.com → Forward to your FamiKey address (you can find it in the app, on the home’s page) . Click Done.
Another provider

Look for “rules” or “filters” in your email settings and create one that forwards messages from info@account.netflix.com to your FamiKey address (you can find it in the app, on the home’s page) . If your provider asks you to verify the forwarding address, email us at hi@vicxelcode.com and we’ll help you.

Check that it works

On the Netflix sign-in screen, request a sign-in code for the account’s email. Within a few seconds it shows up in FamiKey and the home switches to Connected.
